(SUITABLE VEHICLES)

As the name suggests, ukLANDROVERevents operates it's scheduled driving tours and events solely for Land Rover vehicles.

This is for several reasons.  Firstly, we are Land Rover enthusiasts ourselves, and have a total commitment to the marque.  Secondly, for practical reasons, it is more sensible for us to plan events around a core set of vehicles, therefore being able to accurately establish whether or not certain routes will be suitable for the vehicles that will come on the events.

When we plan a route, we try to ensure that all trails can be driven by the acceptable vehicles (see below) in entirely standard form.  Of course, lots of customers have vehicles that are 'off road prepared' to various extents, and this is also fine by us.  We do ask though that any heavily modified vehicles are checked with us first, as these can sometimes be unsuitable for us on the public trails.

Owners of vehicles which do not fit our criteria for entry on the normal scheduled events may still be able to take part on a Private 4x4 Tour, organised specifically for you and your vehicles.

PRODUCTION LAND ROVER VEHICLES

All production Land Rovers with the exception of the Freelander 1 & 2, Discovery Sport, Range Rover Evoque and Range Rover Velar are suitable for all of our events.

It is primarily the lack of a low range transfer gearbox that hinders the above vehicles on our events, although there may also be ground clearance issues on certain events for certain models.  Contact us if you are in any doubt about whether your Land Rover will be suitable for any given tour or event.

Some events use trails that are narrow and with overhanging branches etc, so if wanting to avoid or minimise the risk of paintwork scratches, please check with us before booking about the nature of any route.

You should also be aware that some fitted accessories, such as side steps and low slung towing electrics etc can be quite vulnerable to damage if driving off road.  Low profile tyres, especially road biased ones, are also not recommended.

Any vehicle being used on our tours must be road legal, fully roadworthy, and in a good state of repair.  Vehicles must have a valid MOT (unless exempt) and have current Vehicle Excise Duty (road tax) in place.  Anyone driving the vehicle at any time must be covered by insurance.

LAND ROVER BASED VEHICLES (HYBRIDS/KITS ETC)

Any specially built vehicle broadly based on Land Rover running gear would normally be acceptable on our events.  These vehicles are sometimes recognised kits such as the Tomcat, Dakar or Ibex type vehicles, but equally welcome are home built hybrids or bobtails built mostly from Land Rover based parts.
